How Nature Reserves Are Born
Step by Step 🐾
🔍 No Purchase without Research
Research
Which forest needs us most? Our team examines every area on site: species, ecosystem, ownership, legal status, protection plan. We only buy when everything checks out. Thorough beats fast.
💵 We buy Rainforest
Buy
We acquire the forest, officially and with a land register entry. Sounds dry, but it's the strongest protection there is: From now on, nobody decides over this forest. Except nature itself.
⛺ Rangers on Site
Protect
Not just patrols and documentation — you can see our team's work all over the forest: secured borders, maintained trails, clear signs. And the close ties to local communities and farmers. Without them, none of this works.
🛰️ Support from Munich
Support
While the rangers walk the forest floor, we watch from above: via satellite, from Munich. Plus analysis and planning to keep things running on site. One forest, one team, two places.
🌱 Now it's your turn
Join
Now it's your turn: Research, purchase, rangers, satellites — all of this is carried by people like you. As a member, your own reserve grows month by month. You're not a supporter. You're what makes it work.
And yes: You can visit your area. We regularly invite members on expeditions.
FAQ
Which species does my area protect?
Your area is located in the Ucayali Rainforest in Peru, home to jaguars, sloths, harpy eagles, poison dart frogs, and thousands of other species. You can see which animals and plants are documented in our nature reserve directly in the Explorer.
The species we protect →How long is my area protected?
At least 100 years from allocation, legally anchored in our terms. The protection doesn't depend on good intentions; it is bindingly secured for the long term.
How do you protect the area on the ground, for example against illegal logging?
We are the legal owners of the land and secure it together with local communities, through patrols and AI-supported monitoring. That keeps the protection binding for the long term.
Who owns the protected land?
Fund The Planet, operated by Munich-based Green Token GmbH, acquired the land in a legally secure purchase and places your area under protection. Your area is assigned to you and visible in the Explorer.
View ownership documents →How is Fund The Planet different from other environmental organizations?
We buy forest land ourselves instead of just supporting projects, protect it for the long term, and make every step verifiable: map, coordinates, updates, and a public protection register.
To the Protection Register →Can I try it for free first?
Yes. You can protect 1 m² of Amazon rainforest for free, with no obligations or hidden conditions, and experience for yourself how transparent the model is.
